Health Care Professions Licensing Board

The Northern Mariana Islands Health Care Professions Licensing Board (HCPLB) was first established by law (P.L.15-105)  in 2007, which repealed the Medical Practice Act of 1982 (1 CMC §§2641-42 and 3 CMC §§2201-72, Public Law 3-30, as amended), in order to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare, to protect the public from unprofessional, incompetent, unlawful, and fraudulent and/or deceptive practice of the health care professions, and to govern the granting and use of privileges to practice the health care profession.
